I'm sure Funagain wouldn't list copies that don't exist. They probably placed their pre-order directly with Fragor and are guaranteed to receive a certain number (as with everyone who ordered directly from Fragor).

This is not the case. I'm not sure why they don't feature this on their website, but here is the guide to Funagain Essen preorders: Funagain Games is bringing Essen games to BGG Con 2012 Edition. In a nutshell, they are going to show up and throw money at publishers and hope to get as many games as they can. If Funagain manages to get ten copies of Game X, then the first ten on their preorder list get them.

Unless you are a representative of Funagain, you have no basis to say how they will handle Spellbound. The link you provided is for large print-run games, but I can't imagine that is the case for a limited edition of 1000 copies which are already entirely sold out. There simply aren't a lot of extra copies floating around, even at Essen, and Funagain would know this. It only makes sense that they preordered like the rest of us.

My point is that they are absolutely "listing copies that don't exist" of games that people are putting in for preorder. They have over 100 Essen releases available for preorder from their website that they will attempt to acquire. The representative of Funagain Games specifically writes in that thread: "Pre-ordering something does not mean that you will get a copy."

So unless you are a representative of Funagain, you have no basis to guarantee that people preordering Spellbound from Funagain will definitely receive the game.
