For most scenarios, the first card that I play is Concentrated Rage. IMO it is the key card for the damage that the Bear can deal. I think there are a few ways to play the Beast Tyrant, but it's hard to imagine that going anything but full Bear can yield as much damage.

I've a couple of questions....

I've been playing this class now for 2 games and to be honest I'm struggling with this card. The extra 3 damage/Move don't seem all that valuable when compared to the cards you could be playing instead...

Am I missing something?

Do you realize that it's a persistent ability without a lost condition? You play it to the Active area early, and then apply it when you want. When you use it, it adds +3 to both the Bear's normal attack and then the bottom Command attack action. Early on, that's usually two Attack 5s. Later on, that becomes even bigger, and depending on item/card choices, it can also be up to 4 attacks at the highest levels. At those levels, you can do insane damage. Two Attack 5s at low levels is pretty good too though.

So, I can think of 1 combo that will give you two attack 5's. Forgo top attack for bear's auto turn to be attack 5 and then use the bottom attack 2 increasing the damage by 3 for a 2nd attack 5. But that's it. This combo is repeatable but maybe 3 time total if you are short/long resting after having spent most or all of your cards. What other combo do you use to gain attack 5?

Also, I'm curious about how you do a repeatable 25 damage often.

Note that I'm discussing a high level Beast Tyrant. Your example can be done at Level 1.

Spoilers on all Beast Tyrant cards (including solo item) and Items up to Prosperity 4:
[o]
After you play Concentrated Rage (which was often my first move), there are several cards that you use similarly. Here is one of the combos I would often use:

Turn 1:
- Ignore top action
- Bear's turn: Move 3, Attack 5 (Base 2, +3 from Concentrated Rage)
- Blood Hunger: Attack 6, Heal 3
- Staff of Command (solo item)
- Jaws of Death: Attack 5, Push 3, Move 3, Attack 5

- Major Stamina (Recover some of the above cards)
- Moon Earring (Refresh Staff of Command, etc.)

Turn 2:
- Ignore top action
- Bear's turn: Move 3, Attack 5 (Base 2, +3 from Concentrated Rage)
- Jaws of Death: Attack 5, Push 3, Move 3, Attack 5
- Staff of Command (solo item)
- Rampage: Move 3, Attack 5

Spoiler for Found Item that is also available at Level 6 Prosperity:
[o]- Pendant of Dark Pacts: Refresh Moon Earring and Major Stamina[/o]
- Minor Stamina (Recover some of the above)
- Moon Earring (Refresh Staff of Command, etc.)

Turn 3:
- Ignore top action
- Bear's turn: Move 3, Attack 5 (Base 2, +3 from Concentrated Rage)
- Vicious Ally: Attack 5 x 2 Targets
- Staff of Command (solo item)
- Jaws of Death: Attack 5, Push 3, Move 3, Attack 5

etc., etc.

I would long rest when I could in order to reactivate my Staff of Command without the Moon Earring as often as possible. I had both a Major and Minor Stamina. If you don't have the item in spoilers above, then you could use the Empowering Talisman for the same effect (albeit reduced).

I was usually approaching 25 damage with one of the above combos because at higher levels, you're almost always pulling +1 cards at a minimum on attacks. My most common combo was: 5+1, 6+1, 5+1, 5+1 = 25 with the Modifier deck. Note that with that last combo I posted above, you could actually put out even more damage assuming just a +1 on all attacks...
