The goblin advantage is speed, the dwarves resilience. If the dwarves can occupy terrain, like hills, and maintain support formations they can ignore two flags per combat and limit the ability of their enemies to hurt them. Goblins advance quickly, but they run away more quickly!Using the Horrific Horde and Bearded Brave my wife and I played a game (me as goblins and she as dwarves), I probably had more than double her units, and some of mine (hyena riders) could move extremely fast. I started out really well- harrying the dwarves before they could really get into formations and so on, I caused some serious casualties early. As my wife got into formations and so on the flags rolled against my goblins started to tell. I lost several banners in the late game because of panicked retreats.
