Thread: Thunderstone Advance: Root of Corruption:: Rules:: Treasures (new rules)

Picked up "Root of Corruption" at the Spiel '12 this Sunday and was delighted to see that one of our favorite features got re-implemented in Thunderstone Advance: Treasures!

And we really enjoyed the new concept of monsters actually "guarding" the treasures now - this feels a lot more authentic/natural, especially in a dungeon-crawl-deck-building game laugh.

Anyway, a couple of rule questions regarding treasures remain:

1) The rules said nothing about what to do when treasure cards show up during setup (while filling the dungeon hall). Would you discard treasures and place them at the bottom of the dungeon deck (that's what the former rules for treasures instructed you to do) or would you remove them from the game completely or would you already place them under one of the monsters?

2) In case you're mixing Thunderstone Advance with some of your vintage Thunderstone cards and a treasure feature from one of those older editions is to be used (e. g. "Figurine Treasures" from Dragonspire), should you apply the new treasure rules to those cards also? I mean: would you assign these treasure cards (without a fight) to the active player as soon as they get revealed from the dungeon deck (old rule) or should you rather also place a monster on top of these treasure cards now, so that they become part of the monster's hoard that can only be claimed after a successful combat against that monster by the next player(s) (new rules)?

3) The new rules also say: "Use only one treasure group in a game". I assume the purpose of this rule is to ensure that monsters will not inherit too many battle effects (or rather: too many conflicting battle effects!) from multiple groups of new treasure cards (which are yet to come in future Thunderstone Advance expansions!). So the question here is: Do you apply this rule only when it would be possible to mix in several new (= Thunderstone Advance) treasure features or would you also restrict the usage of treasure features to one when only using your older treasure features (which don't give any battle effects to monsters) or combine your older treasure features with just one new treasure feature that boosts monsters (e. g. the Root of Corruption treasures)?
