I'm really glad to see this thread.
I've been a playtester for Mage Wars for a some time now. During our playtesting, we had a serious concern that the Warlock was broken. Specifically, we were concerned that he couldn't be defeated if he simply rushed the other Mages immediately.
It is refreshing to see that he is being described as the possible worst. I think that this is a sign of a good game.

Shadow on the Mage Wars forums (also a playtester) seems to be in aggrement with my assessment of the Warlock. Perhaps you could share some thoughts as to why your group felt the Warlock is better at rushing across the board than the Beastmaster is. Please be sure to read through all of the reasoning that's been done by both sides though if you could, to avoid repetition.
Were any last minute changes made during playtesting to the Warlock that nerfed any of his capabilities?
