Yeah, I likes me my RPGs as much as the next guy, but I always found it funny that anybody who picks up a box could fire through the general vicinity of his friends and not have to worry about hitting them by accident in the process. In the heat of battle, your friends aren't going to be paying perfect attention to every arrow you fire.
I always preferred the systems that at least provided some kind of cover penalty for firing through friendly units, so I'm cool with D2E having friendlies block LoS.
