I'll spoiler-hide this because the thread title isn't clear which new class will be 'spoiled'.

Spoilers for 'Squid-Face/Cthulhu' but Dan, you can click the next spoiler freely as you already know the details of the Level 1/x cards of the class:

[o]A couple of similarities that you've already noted are:
- They both share the lowest hp-range.
- Their natural function is to attack at range. Spellweaver has a few melee attacks both at Level 1 and as she levels up but this clearly isn't her primary strength. I don't think Cthulhu has a single melee 'attack' ability so you'd be hard-pushed to create a melee-build.

You could use Cthulhu's 'Foul Wind' and base a build around maximising ranged-attack damage by infusing and consuming 'wind'. This would be the most 'Spellweaver-esque' style of play. However, I found this build rather awkward and considerably less fun than the alternative, more unique, builds that you can play with Cthulhu.[/o]

A personal view (broadly speaking and without reference to any cards but with experience of higher level cards):

[o]Cthulhu is so much fun to play both thematically and in-game. You can basically walk (or fly?) around, infecting all enemies and then allowing the disease to spread, gradually stripping them of all their health. Spellweaver has a lot of 'ranged attacks'. Cthulhu's damage often ignores range and doesn't involve 'attacks'.

You'll never feel without options on a turn and you're never useless. You can stun, immobilize and poison enemies to help allies and you can even find yourself damaging an enemy on the opposite side of the map who an ally may be struggling with.

Cthulhu also has a really interesting array of 'persistent effect' loss cards that you can pick and choose between depending on the scenario which makes it a very adaptive class as well.

Also.... it's just the coolest character concept i've seen in the game.[/o]

Having played both Cthulhu and Spellweaver, i'd say that they're certainly different enough to justify pressing on with it but a melee-build Mindthief or Cragheart (with their augments/obstacle-manipulation respectively) may well 'feel' like more of a shift in playing style, particularly at early levels.
