Hi, I decided to attempt to modify the house card sets by using cards from the DWD expansion in an attempt to make the cards more interesting and possibly more balanced, while still maintaining theme. (I only used new characters that were associated with that house in book 1-even if they weren't in the story yet)Stark
4 - Eddard Stark - Base
3 - Robb Stark - Base
2 - Roose Bolton - Base
2 - Greatjon Umber - Base
1 - Ser Rodrick Cassel - Base
1 - Walder Frey - DwD (any player other than your opponent who grants support to your opponent must grant that support to you instead.)
0 - Catelyn Stark - Base
-Not much play room here, but I feel that Walder Frey gives some spice to a fairly bland card set, and he was allied for a period of time. Frey could also replace Cassel instead of Blackfish.
Greyjoy
4 - Euron Greyjon - DwD (if your opponent has a higher position on the Fiefdoms track, Euron gains +1 str)
3 - Victarion Greyjoy - DwD (2 swords)
2 - Theon Greyjoy - Base
2 - Rodrik the Reader - DwD (If you win this combat, you may search any westeros deck and place a card on top)
1 - Asha Greyjoy - Base
1 - Dargmar Cleftjaw - Base
0 - Aeron Damphair - Either (I like DwD better with this set)
-Say what you will about Balon, I think he is an OP card, that while he doesn't break the game, he does skew it, so I replaced him with Rodrik (who is pretty powerful in his own right). I thought the old Victarion was also a tad too powerful, so I replaced both him and Euron with the new versions. (Having a card with 2 swords is nice) The old versions could easily be used however. Even without Balon, House Greyjoy still has a powerful card-set.
Lannister.
4 - Jaime Lannister - DwD (1 sword, 1 fort)
3 - Ser Gregor Clegane - Base
2 - The Hound - Base
2 - Ser Ilyn Payne - DwD (if you win this combat, you may destroy on if your opponent's footmen in any area)
1 - Tyrion Lannister - Base
1 - Ser Kevan Lannister - Base
0 - Cersei Lannister - Base
This does give Lannister a boost, if you don't mind not using Tywin.
Tyrell
4 - Mace Tyrell - DwD (1 sword, 1 fort)
3 - Ser Loras Tyrell - Base
2 - Willas Tyrell - DwD (1 fort)
2 - Randyll Tarly - Base
1 - Paxter Redwyne - DwD (ships +1 str in sea area)
1 - Queen of Thorns - DwD (Ignore all text abilities on opponent's house card.)
0 - Margaery Tyrell - DwD (If defending home or area with token, opponents final str = 2.)
Well, I weakened Mace slightly, but overall still a very powerful card set. The jury is out regarding if it is too strong or not.
Martell
The only interesting card that kind of fits in the DwD set is Quentyn Martell, but I think he is a bit crazy, so I left him out. So, the Martell set is unchanged, aside from maybe using the DwD Areo (which has 2 forts instead of 1)
Baratheon
4 - Stannis Baratheon (Either)
3 - Renly Baratheon - Base
2 - Brienne of Tarth - Base
2 - Melisandre - DwD (After combat, return a house card into hand from discard paying tokens equal to str.)
1 - Ser Davos Seaworth - DwD (1 sword, 1 fort)
1 - Salladhor Saan - Base
0 - Patchface - Base
I switched Melisandre and Davos for their DwD versions because I liked the Melisandre card. She is a tad crazy with patchface, but less so than with the other "0" card...
I'd like to know what people think.
