I don't keep everything a secret. I explain the win conditions for both sides, but I don't necessarily explain how the OL achieves his win condition; IE, in First Blood, I explained that I needed five stamina tokens but didn't explain how I got them. The group I play with figured that part out even before I had the first archer off the board. I feel this keeps a sense of adventure in the game and a bit of mystery.

So basically you lied and made it easier for you and harder for them....

It doesn't matter for First Blood because it is almost impossible for the OL to win, but in later quests if you keep secrets you'll be putting heores at a unfair disadvantage.

I honestly don't understand why this should bother you since you aren't in the group I am playing with. As I said, I tell them what they honestly need to know and if any questions come up, I also tell them. If I feel holding something back gives me an unfair advantage, I will also tell them. The idea is to have fun playing these games and trying to give the game the adventerous feel to the game that we are searching for.

Lashing out like this personally offends you is what forces people like me to not even bother being a part of the community here that BGG is trying to create.

Anyhow, have a good one. Sorry to ruin your gaming experience somehow by how my group decides to play this game.
