I've done once a L5R vs GOT comparisson to punish those fanboys of L5R!! :ninja:Some guidelines to bear in your article:
-LCG vs CCG format: pros and cons (a good way to start your article by explaining differences between the average CCG business plan VS the LCG business plan)
-details of gameplay, and those include:
--complexity (easy to learn)
--depth (easy to master)
--strategy (the way the game "feels")
--winning conditions
--playing speed (both in lenght and board - how fast you'll fill your board/plan)
--access to mulligans
--OTK (one-turn-kills)
--chance to act/react
--setup
-deckbuilding (how it works)
-theme (factions present in the game, particularities of those houses)
-multiplayer (if it's present or not)
-tournament format (if it's present or not)
-rotation (cycles, editions, whatsoever)
-how to buy it (preconstructed decks or other market sources)
-particularities
And this last one I'll tell you from my POV:
Simultaneous turns, that's something I like in the way this game is played, it's unique!
Plots, for me a great asset in this game. It will give you strong arguments to the act/react point above, because you can always give an answer to an opponents question with the plots.
Agendas, make so much sense to provide alternative ways of winning the game or just giving some edge in trade of balance. Love them as I love playing plots, and I would like to see more of them in the future.
Challenges and Characters, at times it feels like this is game is only about characters and challenges, but the characters abilities and some events could provide a different feel from deck to deck.
Also the chance to choose to force a kill, discard a card or just gain points works great for me because it forces me to make choices.
