Thread: Thunderstone Advance: Caverns of Bane:: General:: The set is great fun! But I'm still bugged by a few things...

1. NEW COLORS
They're not really new colors, as much as "adjusted colors" from the original TS Advance. Basically, everything's lighter.
Yes, that's probably the way the cards were meant to be printed with Towers of Ruin, but Caverns introduces what amounts to a new color coding -- which makes it the third, if you count the original card scheme.
Since we always play with all the sets (from 1.0 onward) mixed together, I've pretty much given up on the idea of teaching a new player.I think they'd be completely lost with the different visuals.

2. NEW INSERT
I was looking forward to a new "secondary" box to store the overflow from my main TS Advance box. But what's with that insert? I'm not sure what that middle space is supposed to hold, but my old Heart of Doom box is much more roomy. So I thought, no problem, I'll just grab the insert from Heart of Doom and put it in the new Caverns of Bane box.
But surprise! Both insert are actually glued to their boxes. So much for that idea.

3. SMALL KEYWORDS
I was under the (possibly false) impressions that keywords (right under the card title) would be a little larger in the new sets. But this certainly doesn't seem to be the case.

4. FAMILIARS
I was *really* expecting a few more familiars with Caverns of Bane.

But as I said, the new set IS fun.
