Sometimes I think I enjoyed these types of games because nothing else was available. Sure if I hadn't exposed my kids to anything else, they'd think this game is awesome. But my 9-year-old plays Descent, Claustrophobia, and Memoir 44. I have a hard time imagining he wouldn't be bored stiff by this.My 6-year-old, for some reason, likes Ghost Stories and shuns Forbidden Island.
So, before thinking all kids want something simple, random, and without choice, I lean toward exposing them to the hard stuff first. YMMV, but it's worth thinking about.
Besides, if we all want to sit down for a light, dicey dungeon quest, Mice & Mystics beats the pants off of this game.
