With a season of the Fire Two Open in the books and our first installment of the International Clash done, Fire Two Tournaments is off to a blazing start this year. This season should be hotter than ever with some of the best players in the world battling it out for their shot at the title of Fire Two Open Champion. If you're familiar with how we run things, here is a breakdown of what's new.
Major changes are as follows:
- New Map: Fire and Ice
- New Minimum Qualifications to Play in Qualifiers. : 350 BGA/1150 Snellman ELO (400/1200 respectively next season)
- Different Start Time for One Qualifier (Saturday, May 29th at 10am EDT) - This is to help the Asian Terra Mystica Community
With that being said here is a more detailed breakdown of the upcoming season:


Details:
- 24 total players (12 Seeded from the previous season, 12 from Qualifiers)
- One game per tournament stage
- Top three players from previous Fire Two Open seasons in previous seasons become group leaders for group selection. The players they pick to be in their group will then get to select the next player in their group. This continues until everyone is picked.
- Second Chance game consists of the 3 second place players and the third place player that got closest to first place. The winner of that game moves onto the Division Finals.
The Key
- Small trophy in the shape of the key from Terra's town tiles
- Will be mailed to you
Promo Faction Board
- Signed by the Game's Designers
- Will be mailed to you
Seed into the Tournament of Champions
- Direct seed into the end of the year tournament featuring all of the champions from that year
4 Days of Qualifiers
- 2 days for each division
- Players may play on any and all days until they have qualified
- Entries close 30 mins prior to start time of each qualifier
Qualifier Format
- 2 games per night (unless second game is not needed)
- 3 players qualify per day
- Seeding is based on BGA/Snellman rating
- Tables are split as evenly as possible (4 players as the default, 5 players if needed, 3 only when there are exactly either 6,7, or 11 players)
- Winners of each round 1 game move onto round 2
- In round 2, each winner will qualify for a spot in the main tournament (unless there are more winners than qualifying spots).
- Spots will then be filled 2nd place, with the highest percent score serving as a tiebreaker, then 3rd place with the same tiebreaker.
- If there are more winners than qualifying spots after the second game, a third game will be need to be played.


- Wednesday May 26th at 7pm EDT (Fire Division)
- Saturday May 29th at 10am EDT (Ice Division)
- Wednesday June 2nd at 7pm EDT (Fire Division)
- Saturday June 5th at 1pm EDT (Ice Division)
Fire
- Games are played on Wednesday nights at 7pm EST until the Grand Finals
- Must be able to play on at least one day of the following: June 16th, 23rd, and 30th
- Must be able to play on July 7th, 14th, and 24th
Ice
- Games are played on Saturday afternoons at 1pm EST
- Must be able to play on at least one day of the following: June 19th, 26th, and July 3rd
- Must be able to play on July 10th, 17th, and 24th
- Able to commit to the days for the division you qualify for (you will be notified at least one and a half weeks ahead of when you need to play)
At least one of the following:
- 350+ BoardGameArena Rating in Terra Mystica
- 1150+ Snellman Rating
